Result of the July-September 2020 UAI campaign, MPB 48-1

 

The result of the July-September 2020 UAI campaign was published in Minor Planet Bulletin 48-1. Six main belt asteroids and one NEA were observed (375 Ursula, 444 Gyptis, 737 Arequipa, 1146 Biarmia, 1346 Gotha, 1656 Suomi, 2020 PL2) with the participation of eleven amateur observers.

New Comet C/2020 X2 ATLAS

CBET 4896 & MPEC 2020-X156, issued on 2020, December 14, announce the discovery of a new comet has been designated C/2020 X2 ATLAS.

A. Valvasori and E. Guido, performed follow-up measurements of this object while it was still on the PCCP webpage.

Stacking of 15 unfiltered exposure, 120 seconds each, obtained remotely on 2020, December 13.2 from I89 (iTelescope, Spain) through a 0.32 m f/7.9 Reflector + CCD, show that this object is a comet with a diffuse come about 7.5" in diameter.

New Comet P/2020 X1 ATLAS

CBET 4895 & MPEC 2020-X71, issued on 2020, December 9, announce the discovery of a new comet has been designated P/2020 X1 ATLAS.

A. Valvasori and E. Guido, performed follow-up measurements of this object while it was still on the PCCP webpage.

Stacking of 30 unfiltered exposure, 60 seconds each, obtained remotely on 2020, December 8.2 from H06 (iTelescope, New Mexico) through a 0.43 m f/4.5 Reflector + CCD, show that this object is a comet with a diffuse come about 10" in diameter.
